Phase One of Re-Opening

Posted by on May 25, 2020

As of June 1st we’ll be ready for in-person sessions again. We’re going to slowly ease our way into them just to be aware of safety for everyone.

We want to start with welcoming back those people where online therapy hasn’t been possible for different reasons.

If you are comfortable with meeting online for now, we thank you for this understanding and we will welcome you back in our phase two. We will still continue to offer online and over-the-phone therapy.  And continue to offer this on an ongoing basis for those who prefer this type of therapy and where it makes sense for the type of service you are receiving.

Here are a few extra steps we need from you for in person sessions:

  • Before coming, assess if you have any covid-19 symptoms and if yes, cancel or move your session to online. There will be no penalties for cancelling because of symptoms.

  • Come with your own mask, water bottle or other beverage. You need a mask in order to enter. And while we love making you tea, we won’t be able to offer any tea or water at this time.

  • Sanitize your hands on the way in and on the way out. There will be stations set up for you to do this.

  • Our waiting room will be closed.  It is too small for proper physical distancing. Please don’t come in early. Your therapist will text you when they are ready to have you come straight to your room. If you have a loved one coming for a session, please stay outside and take a walk while they are in session.

  • Don’t bring cash. For a wee while, we’re going to avoid accepting it. Credit card is best. We don’t normally accept etransfer payments, but will during this season if needed.

Here are the actions we’re taking to keep you safe:

  • sanitizing our hands and our surfaces in between clients

  • covering our furniture with new disposable (and recyclable) plastic for each session

  • wearing masks

  • bigger time gaps between sessions

  • moving the furniture so there will be greater distance during sessions

  • disinfecting and frequently changing garbages with tissues in them

If you are interested in booking an in-person session, please contact your therapist directly to schedule an appointment.

Thanks everyone, we are glad to continue to work with you through this time.

Take good care,

Jessica Zeyl, Clinic Owner and Director
